Cam Fancher, making his second start due to injuries, threw for 222 yards and rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, but the offense repeatedly stalled in the red zone, a recurring issue for three straight weeks.

UCF's pass defense, ranked 15th nationally, limited Cincinnati's top-rated QB to 116 passing yards until a late 67-yard completion set up a field goal. The defense allowed only 20 points despite facing 90 offensive plays.

UCF nearly doubled Cincinnati's time of possession (39:44 to 20:16) and ran 90 plays to 48, but could not convert that control into enough points, highlighting a lack of finishing ability.

With starters Tayven Jackson and Jacurri Brown both questionable, Fancher's performance provides some stability, but the QB situation remains uncertain heading into the next game.

UCF hosts West Virginia on Saturday, needing to correct red zone inefficiency and capitalize on possession advantages to secure a much-needed conference win.

Cincinnati's defense held UCF to 11 points despite being outgained 413 to 306 and facing 90 plays. The Bearcats allowed only one touchdown and forced key stops, especially in the red zone, which was critical to the win.

The offense struggled on third down (2-for-9) and managed only 306 total yards, but two touchdown passes from Brendan Sorsby to Jeff Caldwell (40 and 9 yards) and a 67-yard reception by Joe Royer that set up a field goal provided enough scoring. The unit must improve consistency to avoid relying solely on the defense.

Sorsby passed for 191 yards and two touchdowns, maintaining a high efficiency rating (91.1 PFF grade). However, he was limited to 116 passing yards until a late big play, highlighting the need for more sustained drives. The Bearcats scored on all three red zone trips (two TDs, one FG).

Kicker Stephen Rusnak remains perfect on the season, going 2-for-2 on field goals (including a 24-yarder) and is now 9-for-9 on FGs and 25-for-25 on PATs. His consistency provides a reliable scoring option when drives stall.

The win extends Cincinnati's winning streak to five games and puts them at 5-1 (3-0 Big 12), receiving 129 poll points (26th in AP). A win at Oklahoma State could propel them into the rankings for the first time since 2022, adding motivation for the next game.
