UCF managed only 225 total yards and failed to score a touchdown for the first time since 2015, ending a 121-game streak. Quarterback Tayven Jackson threw for 151 yards with two interceptions, and the offense was ineffective against a Baylor defense that had been allowing over 430 yards per game in conference play.

Despite allowing only seven first-quarter points all season entering the game, UCF gave up 20 points in the first half alone. Baylor scored on four of their first five drives, exposing weaknesses in the Knights' defense that could be exploited by future opponents.

With the loss, UCF falls to 4-4 overall and 1-4 in Big 12 play. They must win two of their final four games to become bowl eligible, adding urgency to their upcoming matchup against No. 22 Houston.

Running back Duane Thomas Jr. was a bright spot, rushing eight times for 77 yards. However, the offense as a whole lacked consistency, and the passing game struggled with Jackson's interceptions and limited production.

UCF faces No. 22 Houston at home on Friday. To compete, they need to improve offensive efficiency, protect the ball, and find ways to score touchdowns against a ranked opponent. The defense must also tighten up to avoid another early deficit.

Baylor scored on four of their first five drives, building a 20-3 halftime lead. Sawyer Robertson threw for 267 yards and 3 TDs, while Caden Knighten rushed for a career-high 104 yards. The Bears' quick start was crucial, as UCF had allowed only 7 first-quarter points all season.

The win improves Baylor to 5-4 (3-3 Big 12), putting them one victory away from bowl eligibility. With a bye week before hosting Utah on Nov. 15, the Bears have time to prepare and rest.

Robertson completed 29 of 40 passes (72.5%) and has 2,780 yards and 26 TDs on the season, ranking near the top of FBS. However, he lost his first fumble of the season on a strip sack, which led to UCF's only points. Protecting the ball will be key moving forward.
